It might interest you to know (but probably not) that my dating experience forms to small a sample to statistically demonstrate that girls would have to be crazy to date me.
Infact the trend would have to continue for the next 5 or 6 girls, ideally incorporating data from an additional number who have turned me down (they rule out me simply being attracted to crazy), or I have turned down (inverse of previous bracken).
Frankly if the trend continues much beyond the next girl I may just have to give up this dating thing, statistically significant or not.
(No, parametric tests would not help.)

Date: 2008-03-07 06:33 pm (UTC)1. I am interested in crazy girls
2. Crazy girls are interested in me.
Because there are girls who I have been interested in who have turned me down, and there are girls who have been interested in me who I have turned down. Ther problem is actually one of numbers, rather than a problem with the method (or at least not a problem with that particular part of the method, there are a great many others).

Date: 2008-03-10 11:02 am (UTC)Owen was a mathematician at Balliol, renowned for being sane. He did things like, if someone said something wrong on the internet, he'd shrug and ignore coz they couldn't have meant to upset him.
