Awake at 3am

Because I haven't posted in an age. Because its 3am. And because I have exams next week and can't seem to revise.

A recent thread on rule7 has made me think about recycling characters. Its something which as a rule I think is a bit naff, much more fun to create something new and different. That said, theres a few characters from some table-top games I've played which could be a real experience when transfered to the maelstrom world. So for those in the know (aka those who can share in the horror) here are two maelstrom character I will probably never play, for fear of being beaten with non-larp weapons.

A loyal old-world eidolon who hates the gods. He won't do anything wrong per say, just refuse to do their work, no blessings, no responding to prays, just generally doing whatever he feels like. Add in a big swishy purple coat, purple spikey hair, an obscene amount of letching, and the immortal phrase "how you doin..". Hiat will probably never see the maelstrom.

A kamikuran, probably a rat, blonde haired pig-tails, high pitched voice, and as high as a five year old ADHD kid on a selection of sugars, artifical flavourings and colouring. The original was a 15 years old girl. I suspect I would have some difficulty phys-repping this, so I believe it would become some kind of medical condition: learning difficulties coupled with some signs of both genders. Who knows, I suspect I will not be playing Kaolla at maelstrom. Tho Dave will probably be keeping an eye on me if we do the kamikuran group now. :)

That said, wemic could work better for the anime rip-off school child of doom. It's almost tempting.

Both these characters are one's whom I had fairly good closure on; Kaolla blew her pretty little brains out, while Hiat went and curled up in his own little dimension pretending the Gods weren't quite as stupid as they appeared. But I lived with both of them for well over a year. I don't really want to bring them back, but at the same time (apologies to my other characters)they're my favourites. So the oppotunity to play with them again is really tempting. In the end it feels like it would be disrespectful to all they did and achieved to dust them off and re-use the idea behind them.

That said, I have been known to introduce unsuspecting people to Su. Watching me devolve into a hyperactive japanese schoolgirl has had some interesting effects on those of a more delicate psyche. :)

Its comments like that which keep me doing it. Su's lovely, you'd like her. Maybe.
